We bend life to our will, and life bends us to its will. It is in this point of tension, that mankind exists. We are constantly trying to affirm our suspicions, that locked within our consciousness, is a tremendous force of power. That deep within us, is a light that blots out the darkness. The milky black substance that engulfs the star shine, is reality. It is this darkness that we are constantly attempting to push against. This placid sea water that is forcing life to submit to the machinations of salt, and liquid rock floating up from the belly of the earth. Why do I exist now? These questions persist, despite our technological advances, and the distance between us and our ancestors shrinks and grows, paradoxically. Who are we? Where did we come from? A growing philosophical proposition, is that we live within the confines of a simulation. That we are merely inside of a computer game; that our lives are essentially meaningless. That is what lays at the bottom of simulation theory: meaninglessness. Humans are constantly looking to their technological inventions, as a way to explain all aspects of reality. Just because a game mirrors the movements of human life, does not mean that life is simply a game. This line of thinking is essentially religious. “Reality is a surface facade.” — A taste of this idea is expressed by John 2:15–17.
